Lyrics

IN THE HOUR OF THE LOON
words & music by Grayson Hugh

Let me tell you of a time when all is new
when your life begins again and dreams come true
in the hour of the loon
as we drink beneath the moon
You said you'd come down today about four
meet us at the house or else on the shore
after we go for a swim
soon the party will begin

[Come down to the sea and see me with the sand and the waves in the
sea with the sun in them hurry down, come on down
we'll be walking on the shore la lalala
oooh]

When the music starts to play you want to dance
and once again the wine will give your heart
a magic chance
as you're dancing next to me the night becomes an ecstasy

[Hey! When the music starts to play the house full of voices and the
leaves of the bushes outside in the dark growing damp and cold
raccoon in the garden slowly crawling by the vine
beautiful, it's only you that I see my eyes breathe in you]

How good it will be to see
you again
who knows what might possibly happen then?
so I'm thinking, waiting here

[All day I walked on the rocks
following the sunbleached shoreline
rocks full of feldspar spots
where the salt makes the red hair
seaweed rust, bare feet on the bones of the backs of rocks, the afternoon
pale haze of the air
the burned hours' foam falling down in a slow white wave
to the cool of the blue
and the smell of the clean white shirt on your warm skin honeysuckle small lights on
in the dim dusk air sail the moonlight me]

Waiting in the afternoon for the night
waiting in the hazy gloom of twilight
the sun is shining on the sea where tonight
moonlight will be
